L-Carnitin activates the metabolism of energy in working, agility and sport dogs
and promotes endurance performance. The specially coordinated supply of
nutrients significantly shortens
the recovery phase after exertion, optimises the metabolism of the heart and
skeletal muscles and improves oxygen transport during peak performance. This
enables the dog to achieve top performance in the long run. An L-Carnitin
supplement is particularly important in the case of feedstuffs with low meat
content, which mainly contain cereal products with low carnitine content (e. g.
corn and soybeans). The lack of certain micronutrients – in particular
L-carnitine, taurine and
magnesium – favours the development of cardiac insufficiency, especially in
older dogs and some breeds of dogs predestined for this purpose. Dogs and cats
can produce L-Carnitin from the amino
acids lysine and methionine only to a limited extent. Vitamin E has important
control functions in the entire metabolism.Dietary vitamin E deficiency leads to
fertility and growth problems and for the pregnant bitch to a life-weaknessof
the puppies.
